Housing complex Schorenstadt, Basel

The housing project was completely built by wood construction and consists of 43 detached houses and two multi-family houses with 22 apartments. Depending on the type of house, different variations of modern wood constructions were applied, such as hybrid-construction with concrete roofing and columns, mixed construction with concrete covered Brettstapel ceilings or timber panel construction. All constructions meet the new Minergie-P-Eco-standard. A unified materialization and coloring of the facades using wooden shindles adds to a homogenous appearance of the structure.
