Task Force on Health & Safety on Construction Sites
Terms of Reference
- To consider the impact Directive 92/57 is having on the consulting engineering profession.
- To advise EFCA Board of Directors in responding to any proposed amendment to the Directive.
- To provide EFCA’s expert contribution to the EC advisory experts’ committee for the development of a non-binding guidance for member states on the Directive (i.e. to clarify the Directive’s terminology and the roles of designers, and to assist the member associations).
SCOPE OF WORK – 2009
- EFCA-ACE (Architects’ Council of Europe) guidance on ‘Designing for Safety’ (2006)
- Aim: to ensure appropriate application of Directive 92/57/EEC in the EU member states
- How: through providing expert assistance – together with ACE - to the EC in the preparation of non-binding guidance for the member states (delineate the responsibility of designers)
