Task Force on Standardisation of Project Terminology
SCOPE OF WORK – 2009
- Background: 18-month feasibility study carried out by AFNOR (France) with EFCA support
- Aim: to develop a glossary and standard terminology – starting from national practices - defining the activities that take place within each functional stage of a project and related engineering services in construction of building, infrastructure and industrial units [in industrial products]
- Why: to improve co-operation between all project parties, provide a common understanding of their roles and liabilities, and to open up the Internal Market for services
- How: through a CEN Technical Committee (CEN/TC 395), chaired by Jean Félix (Syntec-Ingénierie), and two working groups (design services for buildings and design services for industrial products).
- Duration: 3 years (2009 – 2012)
